Woman leaning over stranger’s bed identified by phone she left behind

34-year-old Stephanie Pendleton was charged with aggravated burglary after a man woke up to her hovering over him and discovered $33 missing from his room. Officers identified Pendleton by a phone she had left behind in the home.

On September 14th, Cecil Ross called Metro Nashville Police Officers to report a burglary at his residence on 7635 Old Charlotte Pike. He told police he heard a noise and woke up to a woman leaning over his bed. She said something and then left the residence. Ross noticed he was missing thirty-three dollars from his dresser. Police searched the home and found a Samsung Galaxy phone on the floor with the flashlight on that did not belong to Ross.

A woman who called herself Samantha Jackson called the phone and when police answered, she told them it had been stolen. She provided them with the phone number that matched the number belonging to the phone. Police investigation found the phone number was actually registered to Stephanie Pendleton. Ross identified Pendleton in a photo lineup as the person in his house.

On October 15th, Stephanie Pendleton was arrested and charged with aggravated burglary. She was released on a $25,000 bond.
