36-year-old Renita Wade was charged with aggravated assault when she trapped her fiancé in their son’s bedroom with a pocket knife and said “trust me I’m going for the jugular.”
On October 7th, Metro Nashville Police officers responded to a domestic disturbance involving a weapon at 1509 Mohawk Trail. Upon arrival, Darryl Brown advised police he and Renita Wade got into a verbal altercation about her teenage daughter after he asked her to pick up a cord that was lying on the floor.
Renita then became upset and started an argument with Darryl. The argument escalated and became physical when some of his clothes were thrown outside and he went to the bedroom closet to retaliate. Darryl advised police he moved Renita to the side as she blocked the opening to the closet. He stated Renita proceeded to grab his pocket knife from the dresser and chased him to their son’s bedroom. Darryl showed the police video evidence of Renita climbing onto the bed with the blade out, trapping him in the bedroom. In the video, Renita can be clearly heard stating “trust me I’m going for the jugular.”
Renita Wade was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She was released on a $2,500 bond.
