Man accidentally shoots into neighbor’s apartment with his AR-15

35-year-old Philip Restifo was charged with reckless endangerment after he was testing his AR-15 and accidentally fired into his neighbor’s apartment.

On November 1st, Metro Nashville Police officers responded to a report of shots fired at Sole East on 1118 Litton Avenue. Philip Restifo’s neighbor, James Brian, called and stated he was sitting in his apartment watching television when he heard a loud boom. He claimed a bullet went through his front door and hit his laundry room door.

According to the affidavit, Philip Restifo stated that he put a brand new barrel on his AR-15. While testing the new barrel, Philip racked the firearm thinking he was going to dry fire, but he accidentally shot a round into Apartment #206.

Philip Restifo was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment. He was released on a $5,000 bond.
