Man assaults his child’s mother; stares her down for an hour before leaving for work

26-year-old Tyrione Cosby was charged with domestic assault and two counts of violating an order of protection after he showed up at his ex’s residence and pinned her against a wall by her throat.

On November 2nd, Metro Nashville Police officers responded to a domestic-related issue at 638 South 5th Street. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Taneisha Hammonds, who proceeded to tell officers about an incident that occurred the day prior. She stated her ex, Tyrione Cosby, came to her residence without permission, in violation of an order of protection.

She said she spoke with him in the hopes he would not kick her door down. She told officers he became angry during their conversation, came inside of her residence, proceeded to push her against the living room wall by her shoulders, and shake her. He then grabbed her neck and continued to hold her against the wall. She told officers when he finally let her go, he stared at her for over an hour before heading to work. Police checked and noted the order of protection was valid. Warrants were then issued for Tyrione Cosby.

On November 3rd, MNPD officers reported back to 638 South 5th Street. They made contact with Hammonds, who told police Cosby was inside of her residence. Officers found Cosby in the residence holding their son and detained him without incident.

Tyrione Cosby was arrested and charged with domestic assault and two counts of violation of an order of protection. He was later found guilty of all charges.
