Man beats girlfriend after she ends relationship; points gun at her and says “I will kill you”

29-year-old Rodricous Garrett was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault by strangulation after he reportedly struck his girlfriend multiple times, grabbed her by the neck, and tossed her around.

On August 3rd, Metro Nashville Police officers were dispatched to 499 Swiss Avenue, Apartment A116, for a domestic disturbance. When officers arrived, they were met outside by Tanique Guinn. She stated she was at her apartment located at 5135 Nolensville Pike. Guinn told officers she and Rodricous Garrett got into a domestic altercation.

Guinn told officers Garrett came to the apartment to get his things after she ended the relationship. Guinn advised when Garrett handed her the apartment key, he repeatedly struck her on the right side of her face, grabbed her by the neck, threw her from wall to wall, then took her gun, pointed it at her, and told her, “I will kill you.” A warrant was then issued for Rodricous Garrett.

On November 9th, Rodricous Garrett was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault by strangulation. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $70,000 bond.
