34-year-old Phillip Covington was charged with domestic assault after his girlfriend told authorities he dragged her from the car and hit her repeatedly in the face when she confronted him about seeing someone else.
On September 1st, Metro Nashville Police officers were dispatched to a domestic incident at the Tigermarket on 2001 8th Avenue South. Officers arrived and made contact with Ivory Alexander that who told them her boyfriend, Phillip Covington, became upset when she confronted him about seeing another person.
Ivory claimed that he dragged her out of her car and began to hit her in the face. After the assault, Ivory went went home and Covington confronted her there, so she returned to the Tigermarket to contact the police. Officers observed a lesion on her knee as well as swelling and bruising on her left eye. The injuries supported Ivory’s story.
On November 24th, Phillip Covington was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He was later released on a $2,500 bond.
