32-year-old Farid Qadiry was charged with stalking and violating an order of protection when an old co-worker showed police text messages and photos he had sent her even after she had an order of protection filed against him.

On January 7th, Bivian Umanzor-Maradiago reported Farid Qairy, an old coworker, had been harassing her, showing up to her work, and threatening her family. She told Metro Nashville Police officers that she and Farid have never been in a relationship. According to the affidavit, detectives were able to view text messages, calls, and voicemails from Farid. In the text messages, Farid admitted to making fake Facebook accounts with Bivian’s name on them, coming to her apartment, and made harassing statements toward her.

Farid also claimed they had sex when she was intoxicated, which Bivian denies ever happened. Farid also threatened to turn her parents into Customs and Immigration and intimidated her boyfriend. Bivian filed to obtain an order of protection after making four prior reports about Farid harassing her. Farid was served on January 30th and contacted Bivian on February 4th to confront her about the order. She told him was not allowed to contact her and he showed up at her place of work that same day. Bivian Umanzor-Maradiago and her family felt so troubled by Farid that they moved to New York to escape him.

On November 1st, Farid Qadiry was arrested and charged with stalking and violating an order of protection. He was later released on a $5,000 bond.
