On November 2nd, Metro Nashville Police officers were dispatched to the intersection of Nolensville Pike and Thompson Lane after getting a complaint of a vehicle sitting in the left turn lane. The caller, Christopher Shade, stated when the light turned green, he noticed Gray was slumped over in the driver’s seat of the car. A bystander then grabbed a cement block from the side of the road and smashed his rear driver-side window. Shade told officers he noticed Gray’s car was still in drive and a bystander began CPR. The officers stated once Nashville Fire Department Engine 21 and Medic 6 arrived, they continued providing aid to Gray while transporting him to Southern Hills Hospital.

Medic Cory Buckner stated they gave Gray two separate two-milligram doses of Narcan and he regained consciousness. The medic also found a pill bottle filled with a substance Gray later told the officer was heroin. The medicalso took note of track marks on Gray’s arms, which appeared to be recent. Officers stated this was Gray’s first DUI in Davidson County, but he had four others in other counties throughout the state of Tennessee. Officers requested a search warrant for Gray’s blood due to the possibility of him being intoxicated while operating the vehicle. Officers state Gray’s blood was taken at Southern Hill Hospital and he was taken into custody and transported to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office.

Gray was arrested and charged with driving under influence. He was later released on a $5,000 bond.
