25-year-old Amoni Massey was charged with domestic assault after he slapped his girlfriend and punched her in the back of the head several times before he doused her with Dr. Pepper.
On November 2nd, Metro Nashville Police officers responded to a domestic dispute at 421 East Thompson Lane Apartment 51. Officers spoke with Levon McCathern, who stated that she and her boyfriend Amoni Massey got into an argument over him being loud while she was trying to work at their residence.
According to the affidavit, the argument escalated when Amoni slapped her across the face. Levon stated she attempted to walk away and go back to work in the living room when Amoni came up behind her and punched her in the back of the head several times. He then poured Dr. Pepper on her. Officers observed a scratch and red welts on her face, that her shirt was wet, and that she smelled like Dr. Pepper.
Amoni Massey was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $3,500 bond.
