Man threatens to stab security guard in the neck at The Fairgrounds

21-year-old Nathaniel Hayes was charged with aggravated assault after he threatened to stab a security guard in the neck with a fork while he was being escorted away from The Fairgrounds.

On November 3rd, Metro Nashville Police officers responded to reports of a person with a weapon at The Fairgrounds Nashville. When officers arrived, they spoke with a security guard by the name of Carl Becker. Carl stated he was escorting Nathaniel Hayes off of the premises when Hayes pulled out a fork and threatened to stab him in the neck.

Andrew Jones, an assistant, claimed he was a witness to the incident and saw Hayes pull out the fork. Hayes was read his Miranda Rights and told officers that he threatened Carl because he was upset that he was following him.

Nathaniel Hayes was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
