34-year-old Gregory Charles Knalls was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and vandalism after he was found trying to break into vehicles, refused to listen to officers when they told him to stop, and kicked the window of a patrol vehicle.

On November 15th, Metro Nashville Police officers responded to reports of an intoxicated individual attempting to break into vehicles. Officers spotted Gregory Knalls and ordered him to stop. He stopped, admitted he was trying to enter vehicles, and then walked away from them. Officers continued to order him to stop, to which he replied, “I guess I’ll catch an assault charge.” He walked across the street toward a gas station.

Officers told him he could not enter the gas station and made physical contact to take him into custody. Gregory resisted by pulling away when they grabbed his arm but was eventually placed into the back of a squad car. He unbuckled his seat belt and kicked the right passenger window. The window was rendered inoperable when the door was bent. Gregory later tried to leap out of the other window but was stopped by officers at the scene. Police also noted an alcoholic odor coming from his person.

Charles Knalls was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and vandalism. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $2,250 bond.
