Man tries to stab rival gang member at Broadway ATM

36-year-old Sean Williams was charged with aggravated assault after he admitted to police that he tried to stab a rival gang member because he was pushed while at an ATM.

On November 19th, Metro Nashville Police officers responded to a call on Broadway in reference to Sean Williams chasing David Carlton with a knife heading north on 3rd Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found the men and witnessed Williams, with a kitchen knife in hand, chasing after Carlton. According to the affidavit, officers were able to finally detain Williams at 309 Broadway.

Williams stated he and Carlton were members of rival gangs. According to the report, Williams told officers that Carlton pushed him while he was near the ATM at 309 Broadway. Williams stated he then pulled out a knife and began to chase Carlton. Williams also admitted to having the full intent to stab him.

Sean Williams was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $25,000 bond.
