One driver admits firing shots at another while on Interstate 24

22-year-old Thomas Clary was charged with aggravated assault when he admitted to officers during a recorded interview that he fired two rounds from his vehicle at another moving vehicle while on I-24 headed toward Nashville.

On November 18th, Metro Nashville Police responded to a report made by Travis Baxter of a shooting that occurred on Interstate 24. Baxter stated the driver of a white Nissan Pathfinder with the tag 740ZSB fired shots at his vehicle while they were in motion on I-24.

Thomas Clary was later identified as the owner of the Nissan, and MNPD made contact with him at his place of work. Clary was read his Miranda Rights, then admitted to firing off two rounds at Baxter’s vehicle during a recorded interview. According to the affidavit, officers were given consent to search the vehicle and were able to recover the firearm used in the incident.

Thomas Clary was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was later released on a $10,000 bond.
