27-year-old Destini Rains was charged with domestic assault after telling police she had a physical altercation with her sister for locking her child in the car, putting the sister in fear for her life.
On November 15th, Metro Nashville Police officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance at the residence of 3566 Chesapeake Drive. Officers arrived on the scene and made contact with Destini Rains, who stated she got into a physical altercation with her sister, Ivianna Gumbs.
According to the affidavit, Destini Rains told officers that Ivianna Gumbs locked her daughter in her vehicle, which led to the altercation. Ivianna stated to the officers that Destini’s continued assault caused her to fear for her life, and forced her to use chemical spray to defend herself. Based on each parties report and Ivianna’s injuries, Destini Rains was deemed to be the primary aggressor.
Destini Rains was arrested and charged with domestic assault. She was later released on a $1,500 bond.
