44-year-old Ruby Maddox was charged with domestic assault after her father reported to police he had been in an argument with his daughter when she punched him in the face, shoulder, and belly.
On November 18th, Metro Nashville Police officers responded to a domestic disturbance at 172 Luna Drive. According to the affidavit, officers made contact with James Maddox first. James stated he is Ruby Maddox’s father and they lived together. While the two were talking they began to argue over money.
James reported Ruby punched him in his face, right shoulder, and belly. Officers noted he had dark bruising on his shoulder. Ruby claimed the fight was over a food stamp card. She stated there was no violence during the disagreement, but then changed her story, telling police that she was pushed down by her father. When asked how her father received the bruises, she remarked his medication caused him to bruise easily. She was deemed by police to be the primary aggressor.
Ruby Maddox was arrested and charged with domestic assault. She is currently jailed in lieu of a $3,500 bond.
