Woman found driving stolen car with weed jailed on $10k bond

41-year-old Shakeita Harris was charged with vehicle theft, marijuana possession, drug paraphernalia, and driving on a revoked license after being stopped for not maintaining her lane. The vehicle she was driving had been reported stolen.

On October 26th, Metro Nashville Sergeant Mendenhall initiated a traffic stop on a black Chevrolet Malibu at Old Hickory Boulevard and Gallatin Pike for failure to maintain a lane. Officer Mendenhall made contact with the driver Shakeita Harris.

National Crime Information Center notified him that the vehicle was stolen and that Harris’ license was revoked. Sergeant Mendenhall conducted a search after placing her in custody, he found less than a gram of marijuana and a small glass pipe with burnt ends.

Shakeita Harris was arrested a charged with theft of a vehicle, possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and driving on a revoked license. She is jailed on a $10,000 bond.
