25-year-old Cortney Murphy was charged with aggravated assault, vandalism, and violation of a no-contact order after reportedly showing up at a significant other’s place and assaulting him.
On November 12th, Metro Nashville Police officers were dispatched to a domestic call located at 314 Wilburn Street. According to the affidavit, officers made contact with Maurice Murphy upon their arrival at the residence. He stated to officers that something hit the outside of his residence, at which point he opened his front door and noticed Cortney Murphy in front of his residence.
Maurice also stated to officers that she scratched his left forearm and threw an orange cone at the screen door of his residence. Officers noted and photographed the scratches on Maurice’s arm, as wells as the damage to the door frame and parts of the screen door that were laying inside the home. Officers ran Cortney’s information and confirmed the no-contact order against her through the Davidson County Sheriff’s Order of Protection Office. The order was issued on September 9th, 2020, and didn’t expire until March 16th, 2021. A warrant was then issued for Cortney Murphy.
On November 13th, Cortney Murphy was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, vandalism, and violation of a no-contact order. She is currently jailed in lieu of an $8,000 bond.
