40-year-old Chassity Thorton and 29-year-old Juan Parra were both charged with burglary and theft. Thorton was also charged with contraband in a penal institution and Parra with possession of burglary tools and evading arrest when they were caught with a stolen car and forcing entry into a home.

On November 23rd, Chassity Thornton and Juan Parra were spotted in the backyard of a residence located a 3105 Woodlawn Drive by a neighbor. The neighbor reported that it appeared they were attempting to break into the back door. Juan and Chassity entered the storage shed of the residence and caused damage to the door. When Metro Nashville Police officers arrived, Juan was standing near a Nissan Altima parked under the carport.

Chassity was observed in the passenger seat. Officers gave commands for both parties to come towards them, but Juan got into the driver’s seat as Chassity jumped out of the passenger seat. Officers advised Juan to exit the vehicle, instead he put it in reverse and backed down the driveway. He exited the Nissan when it stalled in the roadway, then fled on foot. Officers pursued him and took him into custody approximately twenty to thirty minutes later, in the backyard of 3100 Woodlawn Drive.

During a search of his person, a flat head screwdriver, box cutter, and paint spatula were found inside Juan’s pockets. Police believed the flat head screwdriver was used to pry open the door to the storage shed at the original location. After being read his Miranda rights, Juan stated that he intended to store his tools in the shed. Officers later made contact with Chassity, who was sitting in the driver’s seat of the Nissan Altima at the original location. The vehicle was confirmed to be stolen by its registered owner, Ashleigh Matteson.

During booking, Chassity was found to have three plastic baggies inside of her bra. The baggies contained a substance that appeared to be cocaine. The affidavit and the court system have her name as Chassity Thorton, but her social media lists her name as Chasity Thornton.

Chassity Thornton was arrested and charged with burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, contraband in a penal institution, and failure to appear. She is currently jailed in lieu of a $101,000 bond.

Juan Parra was arrested and charged with possession of burglary tools, burglary, evading arrest with a motor vehicle, theft of a motor vehicle, and a probation violation. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $105,000 bond.
