45-year-old Misty Caudill was charged with aggravated assault after two people with cell phone footage told officers she accused them of shoplifting and threatened them with a knife when they wouldn’t leave a store.

On December 3rd, Metro Nashville Police Officers responded to a disturbance at a Mapco Mart located at 4190 Nolensville Pike. According to the affidavit, Misty Caudill was charging her phone at the counter when she saw Mitarius Boyd and his friend in the store and determined they were trying to shoplift.

When Misty confronted them, it started an argument and Misty demanded Mitarius and his friend leave the store. They refused because Misty is not a store employee. In response, she pulled a knife out, pointed it at them, and yelled again for them to leave. Mitarius’ friend recorded the whole incident.

The Mapco clerk did not witness the assault or any shoplifting, but was the one who called the police. Officers noted the footage confirmed Mitarius’ story and that Misty was extremely intoxicated. Misty denied the allegations and a knife was not found on her person or at the scene.

Misty Caudill was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. She is currently jailed in lieu of a $15,000 bond.
