22-year-old Sean Johnson was charged with two counts of assault, theft, and resisting arrest after his girlfriend claimed he pointed a gun at her, shoved her, and fled in a stolen car when he got upset over a phone call she received from her aunt.

On December 9th, Michelle Blackwell stated she got a phone call from her aunt. Her boyfriend, Sean Johnson, demanded to know who she was talking to. She told him it was her aunt, and he insisted on checking her phone. Michelle declined and he became upset. He pointed a handgun at her, pushed her into the dining area, and attempted to take her phone. She accidentally sent an SOS message to her sister, and she contacted the Emergency Communications Center.

When Metro Nashville Police officers arrived to perform a welfare check, they heard screaming and loud noises outside of 1812 Sunset Circle. When they approached the location, they spotted a white Honda leave at a high rate of speed. Officers made contact with Michelle, who stated, “He has my keys, he is going to come back, and kill me.” While officers were taking her statement, Officer Kozen stated the white vehicle returned to the location. Michelle said she knew Sean was armed with a handgun, and the white Honda was stolen. The vehicle was verified to be stolen, and officers attempted to stop him in the parking lot.

Sean fled on foot and ignored commands to stop until he eventually surrendered. He dropped the keys to the stolen vehicle and his cell phone. Sean claimed he knew the Honda was stolen and was driving it for his friend. Several personal items were located inside the vehicle, and an officer located a Colt 1911 handgun while following the trail of the foot pursuit. When Michelle described the firearm, it matched the description of the weapon the officer located.

Sean Johnson was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm with intent to employ it, evading arrest, theft of a vehicle, and domestic assault. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $140,000 bond.
