36-year-old Romay Thabet was charged with domestic assault after he reportedly told his roommate he was being too loud, then hit him in the chest twice and scratched his arm.
On December 7th, Metro Nashville Police officers responded to reports of domestic assault at 805 Lonsway Court. When officers arrived, they spoke with Youssef Sammour. Youssef stated he was in an altercation with his roommate, Romany Thabet. He claimed he was speaking to his friend, Agaiby Labib, when Romany exited his room and told them they were too loud.
Youssef stated they were just talking, which caused a verbal disagreement between the two. Romany hit his roommate in the chest twice and scratched him with something in his hand that left visible marks. Youssef fled to his car and contacted authorities. Agaiby, the witness, corroborated Youssef’s story and Romany was deemed to be the primary aggressor.
Romany Thabet was arrested and charged with domestic assault causing bodily injury. He was later released on a $1,500 bond.
