Teen caught 19 months after selling stolen Beats to Cash America

19-year-old Marcella Mullins was charged with theft of property after she sold a pair of Beats headphones to Cash America Pawnshop with a serial number that matched a pair of stolen ones.

On April 26th, 2019, David Brown reported his vehicle had been broken into the parking lot of 801 2nd Avenue North. He stated someone shattered his window and about $14,000, a Canon camera, an IPad Pro, a Coach backpack, Maui Jim and Ray-Ban sunglasses, and a pair of Beats headphones were stolen from his vehicle.

On May 6th, 2019, Marcella Mullins sold a pair of Beats headphones at the Cash America Pawnshop located at 801 Gallatin Avenue. David Brown had given officers the serial number on his stolen headphones and it matched the ones sold at the pawnshop. The estimated value of the Beats was $350.

On December 1st, 2020, Marcella Mullins was arrested and charged with theft of property. She was freed on pre-trial release.
