25-year-old Gerardo Rodriguez was charged with domestic assault after his pregnant girlfriend claimed he grabbed her by the throat and slammed her into a staircase.
On December 2nd, Metro Nashville Police officers were dispatched to Audubon Park Apartments located on 600 Whispering Hills Drive, apartment U7. Upon arrival, officers heard a woman screaming, “Get your hands off me of me.” The woman continued to scream, “Let me go.” Gerardo Rodriguez came to the front door and informed officers he was in a fight with his girlfriend.
He claimed she was pregnant and going crazy. When officers entered the apartment, they noticed garbage and food strewn all over the kitchen. Heydy Reyes, Gerardo’s girlfriend, stated he grabbed her by her throat and slammed her head into the staircase. Officers noted she had a cut on her lip that was still bleeding. Gerardo admitted he did put his hands on her during the altercation.
Gerardo Rodriguez was arrested and charged with domestic assault causing bodily injury. He was later released on a $2,500 bond.
