32-year-old Courtney Dreadin was charged with domestic assault after she admitted to slapping her boyfriend at their Airbnb and asked officers if they had ever been cheated on when they attempted to ask her why she did it.
On December 13th, Metro Nashville police officers responded to a domestic assault at 501 5th Avenue South. When officers arrived, they made contact with Courtney Dreadin who stated she and her boyfriend, Jeffery Appleby, got into an argument. She told the officers she suspected Appleby was cheating on her and the altercation escalated, then became physical when she slapped him in the face. The officers stated they attempted to ask her why she slapped him and her only reply was to ask them if they had ever been cheated on.
Appleby stated when he returned to their Airbnb, Dreadin was angrily accusing him of cheating. He told officers the altercation continued to get worse when he refused to hand his phone over to Dreadin. He stated Dreadin began to throw things in the hotel room and proceeded to slap him. Officers stated they observed several small scratches on Appleby’s body. They were able to get warrants against Dreadin due to Appleby’s visible injuries and Dreadin’s confession.
Courtney Dreadin was arrested and charged with domestic assault. She was later released on a $1,500 bond.
