25-year-old Rickia Moore was charged with aggravated burglary after police say she tried to take her children from their grandfather by breaking the door to his house and attacking him.

On June 10th, Metro Nashville Police officers responded to a burglary report at the residence of 913 Malquin Drive. Upon arrival, James Gray advised he was the grandfather to two of Rickia Moore’s children and regularly took care of them at the residence. He reported Rickia came to his house, yelling for her children, and he told her she could not have her kids because she was under the influence of narcotics.

According to the affidavit, she had a bottle of alcohol from her vehicle in her hand and James told her she could leave or he would call the police. She then forced her way into his home by breaking part of the storm door handle and attacked James, leaving a cut on his chin and scratches on his arm. Ronald Gray heard the commotion and intervened to escort Rickia out of the house. She tried to smash James’ car windows when she was outside but Ronald grabbed her arm. James then stated he was going to call the police and she got in her car and left.

On December 9th, Rickia Moore was arrested and charged with aggravated burglary. She is currently jailed in lieu of a $7,500 bond.
