29-year-old Lauren Nix was charged with domestic assault after she attacked her grandfather because she claimed to receive a message from her children’s father stating their children were dead and her grandfather had something to do with it.
On September 11th, Metro Nashville Police officers were dispatched to 510 Hidden Hill Drive in reference to a domestic disturbance. Lauren Nix told officers the father of her children sent her a message stating their children were dead and missing. She stated the message also included that her grandfather, Daniel Williams was responsible. According to the affidavit, Nix proceeded to attack her grandfather while he was laying in bed by hitting him in the shoulder and scratching his arm several times.
Williams stated he was finally able to get away from her and contacted the police. MNPD then made contact with the father of Nix’s children, who told them the children were not dead. Williams informed the police that Nix recently got out of a psych facility and was not taking her medication. Despite Nix not being on her medication, she stated she was aware of what she did and apologized for attacking her grandfather.
On December 2nd, Lauren Nix was arrested and charged with domestic assault. She was later released on a $1,000 bond.
