22-year-old wide receiver JaVonta Payton was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail just before 3 a.m. Monday on an outstanding citation for reckless driving, after police say he was doing doughnuts near Percy Priest Lake in July of 2019.
A citation issued by Metro Nashville Police Officer Jonathan Watch in July of 2019 alleges that Javonta Cosby Payton, 22, was ‘doing doughnuts’ in a parking lot near Percy Priest Lake, while officers observed from the parking lot of the visitor’s center. Police say Payton was driving recklessly and nearly struck parked vehicles. Payton was driving a 2014 Chevy Malibu at the time of the citation.
After being booked on the charge at 2:48 a.m. Monday, Javonta Payton, who goes by ‘@thalegend‘ on Instagram was released on his own recognizance at 5:22 a.m. to a Franklin, TN address and is scheduled to appear in court in May.
