20-year-old Jah’Rule Reed is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, theft of a firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving without a license after police noticed him driving with no headlights and displaying an expired temporary tag.
On February 11th, Metro Nashville Police officers were patrolling The Paddock At Grandview Apartments on Scruggs Lane when they observed a vehicle driving with no headlights on and the temp bag being expired. The officers eventually made a traffic stop of the vehicle on West Trinity Lane near Waffle House and noted the strong smell of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle.
According to an arrest warrant, officers detained Juh’Rule Reed and performed a pat-down, finding three mini shotgun shells in his front left pocket. Mr. Reed also admitted to officers that he has never had a valid license during the encounter. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of three handguns.
The first two guns located were revolvers found underneath the driver’s seat where Juh’Rule was sitting. One of the revolvers used the same rounds like the ones found inside his pants pocket. The other firearm returned as stolen when searched by the records division. A third firearm was located and charged to the passenger of the vehicle. Police further searched the vehicle and found a digital scale with marijuana residue on it. Each gun was loaded with a round in the chamber.
On February 11th, Juh’Rule Reed was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail, charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, theft of a firearm, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and driving without a license. He is currently free on a $8,500 bond.
