Man smashes future ex-wife’s phone when she won’t return wedding ring

31-year-old Keenan Levar Hardy is charged with vandalism after police say he admitted destroying his wife’s cell phone by smashing it multiple times on the ground. He is also alleged to have placed his wife on the ground three times during a scuffle while a 12-year-old child watched. The pair are in the process of divorcing.

On February 9th, Kennan Hardy’s soon to be ex-wife stated to Metro Nashville Police officers that Keenan Hardy took her phone and locked her out of their shared bedroom. When she attempted to get inside the room, he opened the door but wouldn’t give her the phone back. According to the affidavit, they both scuffled three separate times; in the bed, inside the bathroom, and again at the back door, and during each scuffle her daughter witnessed her ending up on the ground. Once outside, Keenan threw her phone on the ground multiple times until it was destroyed.

On February 10th, Keenan Levar Hardy was booked into the Metro Nashville jail, charged with vandalism. He is currently free in lieu of a $1,000 bond.
