Musician Graham Nancarrow admits to punching man in Kid Rock’s elevator while intoxicated

32-year-old Musician Graham Nancarrow is charged with public intoxication and assault, after admitting to punching a man in the elevator at Kid Rock’s Big Honky Tonk & Steakhouse in downtown Nashville, leaving him with a black eye and scratches. He claims he “feared for his life” but was unable to articulate why.

Metro Nashville police responded to an assault call at 221 Broadway, Kid Rock’s Big Honky Tonk & Steakhouse, at 11:53 p.m. Saturday to find the victim, Michael Scheider, who stated he was in the elevator with musician Graham Nancarrow, when Nancarrow struck him in the face with his fist, leaving him with a black eye along with a scratch across his neck.

Nancarrow admitted to the assault, and told officers he was “in fear of his life”, however, they say he was unable to articulate any reason as to why he felt that way. They report he was heavily intoxicated, and in no condition to care for himself. Nancarrow was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail, charged with public intoxication and assault. He was later freed on pre-trial release. Nancarrow did not respond to requests for comment on this story.
