A 15-year-old child says her mother, Shaton Eubanks, and her ‘auntie’, Shawntese Bradford’ punched her in the face, knocking her to the ground. One of the pair is then alleged to have beat her with a belt, and drug her outside by the hair – where the other adult then repeatedly punched her in the face and also assaulted her with a belt. The victim sustained multiple injuries from the attack.
Metro Nashville Police responded to Cayce Homes on April 15th, to a report of a 15-year-old female juvenile victim with injuries. Investigators found the child’s mother and ‘auntie’ had assaulted the child. Police allege the mother, 32-year-old Shaton Eubanks, came to the home of the child’s grandmother, and began throwing the child’s clothing on the floor while yelling at the child, then punching her in the face several times, causing the child to fall to the ground. While on the ground, investigators say the mother assaulted the child repeatedly with a belt, leaving multiple injuries to the child.
While the child was on the ground from the punches and lashes from the belt, the mother is alleged to have then pulled the 15-year-old through the home by her hair, and drug her outside where her ‘auntie’, 20-year-old Shawntese Bradford, then also punched the child in her face while she was on the ground, then also assaulted her with a belt. The victim suffered multiple injuries, including bruising and bleeding.
Shawntese Bradford is was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on a charge of domestic assault, and posted a $2,000 bond. Shaton Eubanks was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on a charge of child abuse and has also since posted a $2,000 bond. Both are scheduled to appear in court in September.
