51-year-old Katherine ‘Kathy’ Larson is charged with domestic assault after police found her boyfriend, Jeffrey Huschitt, with dried blood on his ear and swollen neck. He told police his girlfriend had pulled his hair, scratched his face, and belittled him all day saying such things as “you’re not a real man, a real man would know how to play pool”. The couple had been out drinking, celebrating her birthday.
Metro Nashville Police responded to Heron Point Drive on March 22nd, for a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers initially met Katherine Larson, who was heavily intoxicated, and told officers that her boyfriend had spent all day assaulting her and beating her, but was unable to recite her phone number or even her boyfriend’s last night due to her level of intoxication. She was unable to provide any specifics to injuries or assaults, and police were unable to find any indications she had been assaulted.
The boyfriend, identified as Jeffrey Huschitt, was also interviewed by police and had some video of what is actually believed to have been what happened that day. He explained the couple had been out drinking to celebrate her birthday, and throughout the day she was belittling him, saying things such as “you’re not a real man, a real man would know how to play pool”, and he was simply done with her behavior so he decided to leave the residence.
As he attempted to leave, he was gathering some of his belongings, the video he showed to police confirms Katherine Larson scratching at his face and pulling his hair. The video showed her continuing to attempt to provoke him and preventing him from leaving. Officers observed visible injuries, swelling, and dried blood to his neck and ear.
Katherine Larson, 51, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail, charged with domestic assault. She is free on a $1,500 bond and scheduled to appear in court in August.
