East Nashville woman free on Pre-Trial Release after bringing cocaine into jail during DUI arrest

36-year-old Maya Maslov was pulled over in #EastNashville on May 15th after running a red light. Police say she was intoxicated and admitted to drinking before driving. She denied having any drugs on her, however, jail personnel located two bags of cocaine and snort straws in her purse and pants. She is free on pre-trial release, charged with one misdemeanor, and one felony.

Metro Nashville Police Officer Paul Stein observed a silver SUV run a red light in East Nashville just after 1 a.m. on May 15th at 11th / Garland. He attempted to make a traffic stop, however, the vehicle passed several ideal spots to pull over before finally stopping, and weaving between lanes the entire time. Officers state the smell of alcohol was obvious, and Maya Maslov admitted to drinking a “couple of drinks” with the passenger before driving. She refused field sobriety and related tests and was taken into custody, charged with DUI.

Police state they informed Maslov if she had any drugs on her she would be charged with a felony if she took them inside the jail facility, and she denied any drugs in her possession. Upon entering booking, DCSO personnel located two baggies of cocaine and two snort straws in her purse and pants. In addition to the DUI, and violation of the implied consent law, she was also charged with a felony count of bringing drugs into a penal institution. She is free on pre-trial release.
