20-year-old Isayah Batista is facing multiple charges after police say he asked a woman for sex and grew “irate” when she told him no. Court records allege he assaulted her and would not allow her to leave the apartment. The man’s roommate had to get involved so the woman could flee, at which time the man reportedly followed her, strangled her, and threw a marijuana grinder at her face out of anger.
64-year-old Sally Mattis, of Memphis, was charged with DUI just before 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Harpeth River State Park in Nashville when police found her with 9 open and empty bottles of Barefoot Pinot Grigio in her vehicle, though she claims she only recently drank two. While talking with officers, she urinated all over herself mid-conversation and refused all testing.
Lachrisha Poynter visited MNPD’s Family Safety Center on May 17th to report that her girlfriend, Moneice Jackson, asked her for marijuana to smoke, and when she refused to provide it, grabbed her torso and threw a TV remote control at her, striking her on the lip. After the warrant was signed, she went back to her home, where her girlfriend was staying with her and called 911 to report a person was there with a warrant and needed to be picked up.
26-year-old tourist Anthony Hunter Challender is returning home to Williamston, MI, on a $6,000 bond and with a felony charge after a woman says Challender witnessed a man sexually assault her on Broadway in downtown Nashville, then crossed the street and beat the man’s head on the sidewalk where he once stood, slamming his head onto the concrete repeatedly, until he was unconscious.
A Nashville couple started their Saturday evening partying in downtown Nashville together but woke up in separate jail cells Sunday morning. Witnesses reported Nashville Christian School teacher Leah Riek repeatedly slapped her boyfriend, John Ladd, in the face and police found them heavily intoxicated and lying in a parking lot, too drunk to stand at 6:38 p.m.
Eh Moo Maung, 24, Paw Bay Law, 21, Kyaw Da, 24, and Sa Mo, 21 are all charged with felony possession of marijuana after officers stopped their white Dodge Charger, claiming they were unable to read the license plate number due to a tinted covering. A pound of marijuana was under the driver’s seat, along with a jar of kief and baggies.
Police say 35-year-old Aisha Williams became upset over food, coming into her parent’s home screaming & yelling, destroying a picture frame, grabbing a pair of scissors and threatening her mother, and destroying a potted plant. Aisha says it wasn’t her, and police arrested the wrong person, claiming the warrant was “for my neighbor with the same last name”, and says she was arrested because she doesn’t “get the white privilege”. Her parents say it was, without a doubt, their daughter, and she is currently off her medications.
A family traveled from Alabama to Nashville so a young daughter could undergo brain surgery at Vanderbilt Friday. Today, the father, 32-year-old Travis Wade McGraw, is jailed in lieu of a $275,000 bond after admitting to raping his other daughter in the hotel room where the family was staying, while her grandfather slept in the other bed just feet away. While she hid in the bathroom and Snapchat messaged a friend in Alabama, who called 911 for her, he threatened to shoot her if she didn’t open the door. Police recovered texts where he asked her to “keep this between us”, a handgun, and her clothing with his fluids on them.
20-year-old Clarissa Blevins is charged with aggravated assault, vandalism, and violation of her bond conditions after the May 5th assault on the father of her child, during which he dropped their child with his new girlfriend in the vehicle, and she adulted by punching him in the face and smashing his phone. She was out on bond at the time of this incident for a prior assault when she ran him out of the house while beating him up, and smashed a cinder block through his windshield when he escaped to safety.
33-year-old Hessen Ribbentrop faces multiple charges after police say he slashed 3 of the 4 tires on his father’s vehicle with a dagger, then beat his father into a fetal position on the ground, and continued the attack.
