40-year-old Emergency Room Physician Ian Phillip Huff was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail at 4 a.m. Friday, after police say he put his girlfriend in a chokehold, causing her to struggle to breathe, and then threw her on the floor, and bit her thumb. The #EastNashville couple had been out downtown before the fight at home.
Police responded to Dew St. in East Nashville and met with the victim, a local touring musician, who told police her boyfriend, Dr. Ian Huff, had come home from downtown and got into a verbal argument. Huff left in a puff to go sleep in the guest bedroom. A moment later he came back to their bedroom to retrieve his phone and left again. She says she followed him while asking him to come back to bed, at which time she grabbed his phone in an attempt to lure him back to their bad, but instead, she says he became violent.
Just before 2 a.m., Huff posted this to a story on his social media:
Court records detail he became so upset and violent he placed the victim in a chokehold from behind, causing her to struggle to breathe. She says he then tossed her to the ground. As she was getting back up, she says he bit her thumb as she was pushing him back off her again.
