NEW: Robert Johnson, the man who is charged with murdering his girlfriend, Pamela Paz, and trying to sell a car with her dead body in the back seat, exchanged text messages with the murder victim from his mother’s phone on the day she died. His mother, 67-year-old Naomi D. Wolf has now admitted to deleting those text messages. She was jailed Thursday, charged with tampering with evidence.

A warrant was sworn out on 06/14, detailing that investigators searched the home of Robert Johnson and his Mother, Naomi Wolf, at 101 26th St in Lakewood. Johnson was arrested at the residence, and warrants were obtained for the property. His mother was cooperative, according to court records, and claimed her son was home all weekend, and couldn’t have possibly been involved in the murder of that woman, according to investigators. Except that turned out to not be true.

Further questioning revealed that Johnson didn’t have his own cell phone, but would use his mother’s. She let detectives review the phone, and they notice the texts from the time period of the days around the murder had been removed from the text conversation. She admitted she had deleted the texts between her son and the woman that was now dead. The deleted texts were from 04/30/21, which is the date MNPD says they believe Pamela Paz was murdered. A later release from MNPD would detail that Johnson also attempted to sell a vehicle with her dead body in the backseat at the time.

Naomi Wolf was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on 06/17 at 8:41 p.m., charged with tampering with evidence. She is free on a $10,000 bond.
