39-year-old attorney Seamus Timothy Kelly was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail early Friday morning after a VUPD Officer says he admitted drinking “a couple of beers” before making a left turn into another vehicle and crashing as the officer watched from the stop-light of the same intersection.

VUPD Officer O’Darra Beauvais says she was traveling north in the far right lane of 21st Ave and was stopped for a traffic light at Edgehill Ave at 12:18 a.m. Friday. The vehicle driven by Seamus Kelly was traveling South on 21st and had a red light, while the other involved vehicle was traveling north on 21st in the far left lane. Kelly then turned left into the other vehicle, despite not having a green light at the time, according to the officer. He turned directly into the other involved vehicle, causing a crash.
