31-year-old Demande Claude is jailed in lieu of a $175,000 bond after the Grand Jury indicted him on the 2018 kidnapping and sexual battery of an 11-year-old child, and the 2019 rape of an adult woman. He lived in the same neighborhood as his most recent victim for the two years since the rape until his arrest this week.
The Davidson County Grand Jury indicted Demande Claude on two separate indictments this week. The first, for one count of aggravated kidnapping, especially aggravated kidnapping, and aggravated sexual battery. This is for a 2018 incident during which he is alleged to have kidnapped an 11-year-old child, engaged in unlawful sexual contact with the child, and used the kidnapping in order to facilitate the sexual battery.
The second indictment is from the 2019 rape of a Nashville woman that lives in the same neighborhood. That indictment alleges three counts of rape of the woman on the Saturday before Christmas.
Demande Claude remains jailed in lieu of a $175,000 bond.
