44-year-old Jennifer McBrayer was jailed this week after calling the police… on herself. On the way back from picking her boyfriend up from a halfway house, he asked to stop at a gas station. When he wanted money for alcohol, she refused and they drove off. Once on the interstate, he called her things he shouldn’t have, and she backhanded him, not once, but twice.
Police responded to mile marker 75.6 on I-65 North on July 15th, in response to an active domestic violence call. Once at the scene, they met with the caller, Jennifer McBrayer, who says she called the police after she was taking her boyfriend to her house from his current halfway house, and they had been arguing since leaving the gas station where she refused to allow him to buy alcohol.
While she continued their ride home on the interstate, she says her boyfriend, Thomas Ray Beard II, called her a “fat bitch”, at which time she slapped him twice in the face, then pulled over and called police to put him out. Since she admitted to assaulting him, police took her into custody, instead of him, and charged her with domestic assault.
Jennifer D. McBrayer was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail at 10:21 p.m. on July 15th, charged with domestic assault. She is free on a $1,000 bond.
