24-year-old Irelyn Callaghan is charged with domestic assault after police say she scratched her ex-boyfriend at a Broadway bar after grabbing his face during an argument when a “random guy” began talking to her.
At 3 a.m. Irelyn’s ex-boyfriend, Nolan Bingaman, who she was at a bar with in downtown Nashville, wanted to head back to the hotel, according to court records. There was already tension from earlier when she became upset after he would not dance with her, so he went outside to give her space. He went back in to say it was time to go back to the hotel, as the bar was closing, and they walked outside where an unknown male began to talk to Irelyn.
Nolan reportedly told the other man to leave, and that was the moment Irelyn began verbally arguing with him, before it turned physical and he says she grabbed the side of his face, leaving a scratch across his face. After initially not speaking with officers, she later said she simply pushed him off because she did not want to leave, but did admit to grabbing and scratching his face. Due to the injuries on the victim and her admission, she was determined to be the primary aggressor in the incident.
Irelyn Callaghan, 24, of Stanwood, WA, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail at 6:22 a.m. on July 8th, charged with domestic assault with bodily injury. She is free on a $1,000 bond.
