24-year-old Rishan Chamdal, of Houston, TX, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail Sunday night after airport police say he went into the backroom of the District News shop inside concourse D and urinated into a mop bucket. An employee caught him mid-stream, demanding he stop, and when he didn’t (or couldn’t) she called airport police. He resisted arrest and had to be taken to the ground, and caused a disturbance while being escorted out of the building.

| On 8/22/2021 at the Nashville International Airport, terminal units were dispatched to the District News store by gate D4, for a male that was caught urinating in the back room. Upon arrival, I observed a male later identified as Rishan Chamdal being loud and disruptive in the store. Chamdal was in the store line attempting to buy a water, and· the store employee advised that she wasn’t going to sell him anything and to get out of the store. Chamdal continued to be loud and seen Police Officers. Officers told him if he didn_t not leave he would go to jail. Chamdal continued to be loud and started to walk out. At that point, I told Chamdal to stop as he did not stop being loud and was causing a disturbance. Chamdal walked toward my direction as I put my hand out and told him to stop. Chamdal ignored my commands and walked passed and I gained control of his left wrist and again told him to stop. Chamdal resisted by pulling away and officers had to take him to the ground. Chamdal was placed in handcuffs and was stood back up. Chamdal continued to yell around a large crowd of passengers and was escorted out of the terminal. While at a double door to enter the ramp, Chamdal resisted by placing his shoulder on the other door and planted his feet. Officers continued using forward momentum and Chamdal went through the doorway and fell to the ground. Chamdal was escorted to a waiting patrol car where he became compliant. Chamdal had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and had slightly slurred speech and caused a public annoyance. The victim stated that she was working in the District News store and seen a male (Chamdal) enter the back room and she followed him to see what he was doing. She stated that she seen his pants down and observed him urinating in a mop bucket. She stated she told him to stop and he ignored her, and that’s when she alerted the police. |
