40-year-old Jason Blandford woke up some residents in Madison early Tuesday morning. They say he was either very “drunk or high” and singing songs in their driveway, where he had parked his car. By the time officers arrived, he was “laying out” in the driveway, where he told them he was “just trying to get home.”

| I was dispatched to 616 Vantrease Rd to investigate an incident involving an intoxicated individual. Upon arrival, I made contact with the complainant, who is the resident at the location. The complainant advised that they were woken up by someone singing in their driveway. Upon further investigation they found the defendant who was “either drunk or high”. When I made contact with the defendant he was laying out in the middle of driveway. The defendant had a strong odor of alcohol, an unsteady gait, and slurred speech. When asked what the defendant was doing at the location he advised that he was “trying to go home”. A vehicle that was registered to the defendant was also parked in the driveway, however, it was off and the keys were on the passenger floorboard. The complainant advised that they did not ever observe the defendant drive the vehicle and they were unsure when he may have come to their residence. The defendant was taken into custody for public intoxication due to his clear annoyance to the residents at the location and the fact that he would pose a danger to both himself and others if left alone. |
