A trio of 18-year-olds from Nashville are charged after a female lured a man to a 40th Ave N. home, at which point Deyton Farless, Michael Barlow, and Hugo Tabora, were among the teens that held him using a stun gun and hammer, robbed him of his belonging, forced him to drain his CashApp account, then kidnapped him using his own vehicle, drove 7 miles before dumping him out, and then fled toward Cookeville and engaged in a chase with THP and local police.
Metro Police say the victim showed up at 1028 40th Ave N. in Nashville on August 4th to meet a female he was communicating with on Snapchat. She led him into a bedroom, where several people jumped out on him, initially hitting him several times to disorient him. They held him with a stun gun and hammer and went through his pocket, taking his phone and keys to the car he arrived in.
The teens then forced the victim to use CashApp to send them money to their CashApp accounts. The first and second $75 transactions were successful, but a 3rd $600 transaction was declined. They then rummaged through the victim’s vehicle and the males brought him outside while the female stayed inside. They all got into the vehicle, and the now kidnappers wrapped the victim’s head in clothing for the ride. They drove seven miles before dropping him off near Napier Elementary School.
The following day, August 5th at 12:04 p.m. DeKalb County Dispatch received a call from the Cookeville area Tennessee Highway Patrol that Baxter Police were in pursuit of a stolen vehicle out of Davidson County and the driver was supposedly armed. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department also entered the pursuit on I-40 in Putnam County. The chase eventually ended after spike strips were deployed.
The vehicle was the victim’s and was being driven by one of the kidnappers, 18-year-old Deyton Farless, along with three passengers, 2 of whom were identified as 18-year-old Michael Barlow, and 18-year-old Hugo Tabora, who were also participants in the robbery and kidnapping.
An arrest report details that Deyton Farless was booked into the Putnam County Jail, charged locally with no driver’s license, automobile theft, evading arrest, and reckless endangerment, and a hold was placed on his release for the pending Nashville charges.
MNPD Detectives traveled to Cookeville for a jailhouse interview with Deyton Farless, during which they detail he admitted the group set the victim up to steal his money, admitted to kidnapping him, stealing his vehicle, and identified each and every person involved in the crimes of the previous night. Farless remains jailed in the Putnam County Jail, and will be transferred to Nashville upon completion of his case there.
18-year-old Michael D. Barlow was identified by Farless as one of the teens involved and was taken into custody, charged with aggravated robbery and kidnapping. He remains jailed in Nashville in lieu of a $100,000 bond.

The identity of the 4th person in the vehicle at the time of the arrests was not made public. The investigation is ongoing.
These three have a bright future being locked up 23 hours per day.
