Metro Police say 23-year-old Savannah Leigh Shrum held up her right hand and extended her middle finger to the officer who was attempting to pull her over as she traveled over 90 mph in her Mustang Thursday at lunch, making it “clear she wasn’t going to stop”. The aspiring model, who has a modest Instagram following, sped away while the officer fell back and ran her license plate to secure a warrant for her arrest.
MNPD Officer Ronald Bright observed a 2018 black Ford Mustang traveling on I-65 N near Dickerson Pk and paced it at over 80 mph while in the 65 mph zone. He activated his lights and sirens, however the driver made no indications or efforts to slow down or acknowledge his presence. Believing she may be unaware of his presence he attempted different siren tones to no avail.
Still believing the female driver genuinely may not see him as she now passed 90 mph in a 70 mph zone, the officer pulled along side the Mustang and the female driver looked directly at him, motioned to him that she was aware of his presence and he was attempting to pull her over, and continued to drive over 90 mph with no regard for the situation that was happening.
As Officer Bright fell back behind the vehicle in order to follow her, at which time the female driver began to suddenly yield across all five lanes of traffic. As this happened, Officer Bright recalls she “put up her right hand so that I could clearly see that she was giving me the middle finger through her rear window to indicate ‘FUCK YOU’, and refused to yield.”
Due to the potential dangers of further pursiut, the officer fell back and turned off all emergency equipment. He stopped at the next exit and conducted a records check of the vehicle, which returned as registered to Jeffrey Huskins, a local married music producer, and Savannah Leigh Shrum. The officer positively confirmed the driver to be Savannah Leigh Shurm using her driver’s license photo for comparison. Warrants were then issued for her arrest.
In a conversation with Scoop: Nashville, Shrum states “I still don’t even know why I got arrested no cop got behind me w blue lights… I do not need the whole world knowing my business… I was set up… the feds on that bullshit!”
Savannah Leigh Shrum, 23, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on the outstanding warrants at 8:02 p.m. on 08/12/2021. She is charged with reckless driving, following too close, and felony evading arrest with a motor vehicle. She is free on pre-trial release.
