67-year-old Nina Sukhovetskaya says she got into an argument with a woman who lives with her after the woman would not open her bedroom door to allow her to see inside. Nina reportedly performed the Russian version of “flipping the bird” toward the victim, Amber Davis, who claims Nina’s hand lightly hit her in the nose. She is charged with domestic assault, and free on a $1,000 cash bond.

|The victim is a roommate of the defendant. The defendant called police to their residence after the victim refused to unlock her bedroom door for the defendant to see inside. This caused a verbal argument over leaving the bedroom door unlocked.|
During this argument, which occurred on 08/23/2021, the defendant suddenly hit the victim in the nose. The victim said a witness was present during the incident. Police spoke with the witness who said the defendant, who is the aunt of the witness, gave the equivalent of the bird finger in Russian, to the victim. This was done by closing the fist with your thumb between your pointer and middle finger.
The witness stated that this action caused the defendant’s hand to lightly hit the victim in the nose. Initially, the defendant denied any physical altercation but when confronted with the witness statement, the defendant admitted to making the gesture but not making physical contact. Due to the victim and witness statement, police determined the defendant to be the primary aggressor and was taken into custody without incident.
