Poice found 27-year-old Jessica Mackinnon asleep/passed out behind the wheel in the middle of an intersection in Antioch. After medics and others eventually got her awake and alert she told first responders she drank one beer and smoked marijuana. She blew a 0.211 BAC, nearly three times the legal limit. She remains jailed in lieu of a $1.500 bond.

| On 8/31/2021 around 0647 hours, Officer Bega was traveling east on Old Hickory Blvd in Antioch. He spotted a white Volkswagen stopped blocking two lanes at Firestone Parkway. He stopped to assist. When he approached the vehicle, he found the defendant passed out in the driver’s seat. He knocked on the window several times but was unable to wake her. He called for an ambulance and they responded. She eventually awoke but was very disoriented. He noticed that she smelled strongly of an alcoholic beverage, speech was slurred, and eyes watery. He called for a DUI Enforcement Unit and I responded. When I arrived, I noticed the same signs of impairment. I read her Miranda warnings. She admitted that she drank one beer and smoked marijuana. She exited the vehicle and almost fell. Three standardized field sobriety tests were administered. She showed multiple signs of impairment on all three. She was placed under arrest for DUI and read the Implied Consent Law. She agreed to a breath test. I administered the test and the result was .211 percent. She slept and cried while in the back seat of the police car. |
