24-year-old Jacob Sherlin was found asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle, which was in the middle of I-65S at around 5 a.m. on August 30th. Police say he wasn’t intoxicated, showed no impairment, and quickly became alert and responsive. He was, however, driving on a suspended license, so he was transported to booking on that charge.

| Officers got a call of a vehicle disabled in the middle of I-65Ss at approximately MM 89/9 around 0500hrs on 08/30/2021. When arrived on the scene, the defendant was seen asleep in the driver seat of a black 2010 Buick Terrain. The vehicle was running, keys in the ignition, and the vehicle was in drive with the foot on the brake. Officers were able to wake the defendant up but not before officers attempted to break his passenger side window. The defendant was briefly checked by NFD Medics. The defendant’s eyes were checked and showed up smooth pursuit and did not show any indications of impairment. The defendant was alert and responsive to the officer’s questioning. The defendant stated that he had fallen asleep. The defendant’s driving record indicated that he was suspended with two FT A’s out of Sumner Co. in the last years.
