Former Metro Council candidate and Angelo’s Picnic Pizza owner, 38-year-old Nicola ‘Nick’ La Mattina, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail Monday on outstanding warrants from an August incident in which he is alleged to have run his soon-to-be ex-wife off the road, followed her to her home where he doesn’t live, broke into the home, followed her up a set of stairs, tore down a door and threw it down the stairs, then destroyed the bedroom while the victim was locked in a nearby bathroom. His mother arrived at the home and scared him away from the premises, and warrants were issued for his arrest. He is free on an $18,000 bond.
La Mattina was previously arrested in August after he began banging on the door of a friend of his wife, where she was visiting. During that encounter, he told the friend he would get to her before the police got there after she notified him she was calling 911 because he was banging on the door demanding to be let in. He caused over $300 in damage at that time.

| The victim, Marcella Lamattina, called 911 while hiding inside a bathroom at her residence. She stated that her soon-to-be ex-husband who has been separated since 2 Jan 2020, had attempted to run her off the road, and then came to her house, where he does not have residence. Apparently using a key the victim was unaware of, the suspect then entered the residence and chased the victim up the stairs. The victim closed the bedroom door at the top of the stairs and attempted to hold it closed while screaming “stop!” and “go away!” The suspect proceeded to break down the door and threw it down the stairs and into the wall, causing additional damage and causing the victim to lose her balance and fall on the floor. The victim feared for her safety and believed he would harm her. After entering the bedroom, the suspect then began vandalizing the bedroom. Officers witnessed a large mess in the bedroom, and the broken door was laying on the stairs. The victim fled the room and locked herself in a bathroom. The suspect proceeded to bang on the bathroom door and demand that the victim come out. The victim stated that the defendant then threatened to break down that door as well. The burglary ended when the defendant’s mother entered the residence and the defendant exited the residence shortly after. |
