Montavious Cotton charged after CashApp Scam at auto parts store #ConArtist

22-year-old Montavious Cotton was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail Sunday on an outstanding theft warrant. The warrant alleges that he and a friend went into an auto parts store in December and approached an employee, Kevin Crowell, claiming they needed a battery but didn’t have any money. The victim was sympathetic and agreed to buy the man a battery if he could be paid back, which Montavious said he would do via CashApp. After the purchase, in a ruse of showing the employee how to use Cashapp, Montavious quickly transferred $205 from the victim’s account to his own, said he “messed up” and would pay it back later, with extra, because he “needed it”. Cotton and his friend quickly fled the store and were never seen again.

36-year-old Philadelphia tourist James Payton was found “extremely intoxicated” and attempting to fight staff at the Moxy in downtown Nashville in the early hours of Saturday morning. He was immediately irritated with the arrival of officers and stated they should “walk away from him, right now!”. Despite attempts to get him to his room, he stated he wasn’t going anywhere. Officers understood the assignment and took Payton into custody, charging him with public intoxication and disorderly conduct. He is free on pre-trial release.

25-year-old Sandro Kozul is free on pre-trial release after police say he was doing a burn-out in downtown Nashville shortly after having “three wine drinks” in a hot tub. His speech was reportedly slow and mumbled, and he eventually blew a 0.127 BAC.

Man charged with harassment of ex-boyfriend at courthouse, causing a scene after court — Cobe Hampton #Arrested

23-year-old Cobe Hampton is free on a $1,000 cash bond after causing a scene outside a courtroom earlier this month. Hampton exited the courtroom, and waited in the hallways for his ex-boyfriend to also exit, at which time he became upset and began yelling at him. Security had him leave the area, at which point he again approached the victim outside the courthouse angry and yelling, and had to be detained by security. He is charged with harassment – emotional distress.

39-year-old Andrew Nguyen is jailed in lieu of a $5,100 bond after Metro Nashville Police say he sexually assaulted a woman in downtown Nashville late Friday night. Witnesses first observed the man kneeling down and looking underneath a woman’s skirt before he then reached so far underneath that he “groped her v—–” according to the victim. The victim says as she turned around when the incident happened he was just standing there staring at her, maintaining eye contact. Nguyen is charged with sexual battery and public intoxication.
