Metro Nashville Police found 31-year-old Lindsey Pugh high on Suboxone, and even had a fresh one in her mouth, Thursday afternoon as she was picking up her children from Mt. View Elementary School when she bumped into another vehicle in the pick-up line. She admitted to being on the drug, and that she was also on it earlier that morning when dropping one of her sons off at the school. She is free on a $2,500 bond, charged with her second DUI.

COMPLAINT:
2021-0548068
ARREST WARRANT / AFFIDAVIT:
Dispatch received a call from a concerned citizen about a female at Mt. View Elementary School who appeared to be intoxicated while driving to pick up a child from the school. When Off. Hurst arrived, Mr. Wicker, an Assistant Principal, had taken the keys from Ms. Pugh and was waiting for officers to arrive.

Ms. Pugh told Off. Hurst she had “bumped” another car in the school line, but there was not any significant damage. The other driver left without making a report. I responded to assist with conducting a DUI investigation on Ms. Pugh. Off. Hurst had noticed a few signs of impairment but believed Ms. Pugh was not intoxicated from alcohol. Ms. Pugh told Off. Hurst she had taken Suboxone and still had one in her mouth.

When I spoke with Ms. Pugh, I noticed her pupils were constricted and she had a low, raspy voice, which is consistent with being intoxicated by an opiate. She told me her 4-year-old son had been in the car when she drove to the school. Both of her sons had been picked up by a family member before I arrived.

I asked Ms. Pugh to perform SFST and observed indicators of impairment. I took Ms. Pugh into custody and asked her to read the implied consent form. She said she would consent to a blood test, but asked a few times what would happen if she changed her mind. I went to Night Court and asked for a search warrant to have Ms. Pugh’s blood drawn and tested. The search warrant was granted and served at General ER. Ms. Pugh also signed the implied consent form before the blood draw.

A computer check showed she was convicted of DUI in Rutherford County from an arrest in 2019. Her driver’s license was revoked from that conviction at the time of this incident.
